Mike has over 28 years’ experience of working in health and social care in both Support Work and in Education and Training. After leaving the Royal Navy in 1992, Mike started working as a Support Work supporting vulnerable adults to live in the community and has held a number of positions since then including Service Manager, Staff Development Officer and Senior Staff Development Officer.
For the last 10 years worked as the Staff & Quality Development Manager for a large Welsh Social Care provider. He is passionate about lifelong learning, training and best practice in health and social care. He is an experienced Trainer, Assessor, and Internal Verifier.
Mike enthusiasm has been developed through his experience in various social care and learning & development roles over many years. For the last three years Mike has been working with City & Guilds, Social Care Wales and Qualifications Wales in developing the new suite of qualifications for Health and Social Care.
Mike joined the Progression Team in November 2020.
