Mike Paramore

Training Officer

Mike has over 28 years’ experience in Health and Social Care, spanning roles in both Support Work and Education and Training. After leaving the Royal Navy in 1992, he began his career supporting vulnerable adults to live independently in the community and has since held a range of positions, including Service Manager, Staff Development Officer, and Senior Staff Development Officer.

For the past 10 years, Mike served as Staff & Quality Development Manager for a large Welsh social care provider, where he developed a strong focus on lifelong learning, training, and the implementation of best practice in health and social care. He is an experienced Trainer, Assessor, and Internal Verifier.

Mike’s passion for the sector has been honed through his extensive experience across social care and learning & development roles. Over the past three years, he has contributed to the development of the new suite of Health and Social Care qualifications in collaboration with City & Guilds, Social Care Wales, and Qualifications Wales.

Mike joined the Progression Training team in November 2020 and continues to use his expertise to support learners and staff in achieving high standards in training, assessment, and service delivery
