Marie left Bangor Technical College having gained her NNEB Diploma and went on to work in early years child settings for a period of 7 years, gaining experience in a private day care nursery as a private Nanny and as a child minder.
In 2004 Marie became a home carer with Anglesey CC, supporting vulnerable and elderly people with a variety of disabilities including strokes, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia.
Marie has been a care co-ordinator for a private care company where she organised care packages in the community, liaising with primary care trusts and Social Services whilst managing a team of care staff. Marie progressed to manage a branch of a large complex care company, where she was responsible for managing teams of care co-ordinators, nursing staff and support workers for 24 hours care packages, specialising in spinal injuries, acquired brain injuries and mental health.
Marie moved into the training sector in 2011 as a QCF assessor gaining her A1 and PTLLS qualification. She has delivered training in Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Principles of Care, Health and Safety, Person Centered Planning, Moving and Positioning, Dementia and End of Life Care.
Marie joined the Progression Training Team in Dec 2012.
