Lisa has worked in Health and Social care for over 20 years in a variety of support roles with children and young people, adults with mental health issues, adults rehabilitation following acquired brain injury, learning disabilities and care of the elderly; working with people from 3months old to 100+ years of age. Her work began in a residential childrens’ home working with looked after children. She then went on to work as a nursery manager for a local community daycare facility. Lisa also has experience of managing an elderly residential home. Lisa also worked for 13 years as a voluntary music teacher and musical director for a community music project.
During her professional career Lisa has completed her NVQ levels 3, 4 and QCF level 5 in a health and social care setting and has a passion for improving the quality of services that individuals requiring support access and has been committed to supporting people to live the lives they choose. She joined Progression Training in 2013 and achieved her TAQA award. In her role with Progression Training she supported learners to achieve vocational qualifications and diplomas at levels 2,3 and 5 in health and social care, as well as levels 1-3 in essential skills before returning to a managerial role as a registered manager (Social Care Wales) for a respite service for adults with learning disabilities. Lisa then went on to work as a service manager for supported living services and outreach services for adults with learning disabilities.
Lisa recently returned to Progression Training in 2020 and is currently continuing to support staff in health and social care settings to develop their own knowledge and skills in the workplace and thus improve the quality of the services they are employed in.
