Jane Thomas

Training Officer

Jane holds a degree in English and Education with a focus on Special Education. She has international teaching experience, having taught English to children in Spain, Athens, and Corfu, and also worked as a water skiing instructor in Maine, USA.

Jane has 28 years’ experience supporting people with learning disabilities, the majority of which was with Mencap. She served as a Registered Manager and, for the last eight years, as Area Operations Manager for North Wales with Mencap Cymru. Throughout her career, Jane has demonstrated a strong commitment to the rights and equality of disenfranchised groups. During her time with Mencap, she also completed counselling qualifications, applying these skills to support individuals effectively.

In addition to her work in health and social care, Jane studied Fine Art at art college and worked as a professional painter for 10 years. She continues to create and exhibit artwork in galleries across Wales.

Jane joined Progression Training in November 2022, bringing a wealth of experience in leadership, education, and individual support to her role.
