Amanda Ledsham

Internal Quality Assurer

Amanda has spent 29 years in the Health and Social Care sector working in home care roles both on a domiciliary capacity and as a live-in support worker/carer travelling throughout the UK supporting the elderly in their own homes as a carer/companion. Amanda also has experience working in nursing homes, residential homes, community living projects, supported living houses and day centres for both adults with learning disability and the elderly, and more recently has experience of working as a personal assistant under direct payment scheme from the local authority providing care and support to her father. Early in her career, Amanda has experience of working with children and young people both in day centre settings and as a nanny/childminder.

Amanda has managed independent living projects for adults with learning disabilities and mental and physical health issues, and assisted to manage a day centre and residential homes for adults with learning disabilities.

Formally registered with the CIW (CSSIW) as a manager of a residential home for the elderly, and later in her career as a manager of a domiciliary care agency. Amanda fully understands and recognises the importance of the management side of Health and Social Care.

Amanda has been assessing since 2006, alongside care management and project management, and delivers Health and Social Care at all levels, also having knowledge and understanding to deliver business administration, customer service, team leading and management and childcare utilising all the skills gained in her career.
