Apprenticeships in Wales

Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true, but as an Apprentice that's what you get, and whilst you're studying your City & Guilds Apprenticeship you'll get hands on work experience too. Progression Training are able to offer government funded Modern Apprenticeships and Foundation Modern Apprenticeships

There is a wide range of opportunities open to an apprentice looking for a career in health and social care, including working as a support worker, domiciliary care worker or care assistant within the community or in a residential care setting. The apprentice could be involved in supporting older people in health, mental health or learning disability settings. They could be employed by a local authority, independant care provider or a voluntary organisation

Progression Training offer Modern Apprenticeships for young people and adults. Work Based Learning is part financed by the EuropeanSocial Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government.

Foundation Modern Apprenticeships (FMA)

This is an all age programme. Learners work towards a Level 2 NVQ and undertake training to enable them to gain a Technical Certificate and Key Skills appropriate to the overall qualification. Evidence for the qualification is normally gained in the workplace. No employer contribution will be required towards the cost of training or assessment.

Modern Apprenticeships (MA)

The learner will work towards an NVQ at Level 3, a Technical Certificate and essential Key Skills appropriate to the overall qualification. Entrants to this scheme must be employed and have a contract of employment. No employer contribution will be required towards the cost or training or assessment.

Modern Skills Diploma (MSD)

The MSD programme provides opportunities for learners to improve skills and knowledge at level 4, to encourage the commitment to lifelong learning

Recycling Awareness Week Consumer campaign Waste Awareness Wales is calling on Welsh householders to mark Recycle Week (21 – 27 June) by making one small change to what they throw away. Wales has seen a huge increase in recycling in the past decade, but the Welsh Assembly Government’s new waste strategy for Wales, to be published 21 June, is expected to call for even greater levels of recycling.
